Young people spend much of their time in educational institutes, and their experiences there can have huge impact in shaping their life and developmental phase. However, not all young people have access and opportunities to indulge in education or choose the career of their interest due to various socio-economic factors. The disparities in educational access and quality becomes barriers for youth development. Today, the transition from school to work is not easy for many youths, instead it becomes a period of uncertainty, frustration and social questioning. It is high time to incorporate and create learning spaces which can facilitate awareness on sustainable development. At CODOTS, we focus on two important targets of Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education:

  • Education for sustainable development and global citizenship
  • Enhancing the skills, including technical and vocational skills, for employment, decent jobs and entrepreneurship

Our aim is to provide assistance and services in sensitizing young people on the aspects of sustainable development and social-emotional well-being-oriented career development, so young people can have access to opportunities, exercise the freedom of choice and use their potentials effectively.

Choosing the right career is often a difficult task for many of the young people. The career choices are mostly influenced by the opinion and feedback given by people in your immediate networks, which often becomes unscientific and ineffective. Codots helps in identifying the right career choice in such contexts. We partner with organizations which have expertise in the areas of career counseling and guidance.

Broad areas of career development services offered

The diverse career options are introduced in various sessions to the clients.

Psychometric tests are designed to measure candidates’ suitability for a role based on the required personality characteristics and aptitude (or Cognitive abilities).

A detailed assessment of five core areas, i.e. personality, values, interest, aptitude and attitude are undertaken. Efforts are undertaken to know the expectations, social background and value systems of the clients. It follows a career research in the preferred areas.

Sessions are organized on the power, application and tools of critical thinking process.

A skill gap analysis of the clients will be undertaken based on the tools developed. A detailed customized report and a self-learning module will be provided. Based on the requirements, necessary training can be imparted. The target group includes graduates, postgraduates, research scholars from science/commerce/arts/humanities/engineering/medical fields/interdisciplinary disciplines. It can be through online/offline mode.
